Planning Decision Deferred

There was considerable surprise when a decision re the second Mitford Estates application to develop on land west of Lancaster Park was deferred. The proposal caused anger as it is contrary to the Neighbourhood Plan. Cllr Joan Tebbutt says, “I unearthed information that led me to request that the decision be deferred and I am grateful that County agreed to my request, so that the information and its’ implications could be checked out. Whatever the outcome, it will have a significant effect on both the Morpeth Neighbourhood Plan and the County Core Strategy. I hope the delay is worthwhile in the end, but, even if it is not, it is always important to ensure that the facts on which decisions are made are correct.”
